Express Entry

Introduced on Jan 1, 2015, EE (Express Entry) system of Canada selects talented and proficient candidates for PR visa in Canada. Various economic immigration programs come under Express Entry are

  1. Federal Skilled Worker – Supports applications from one of fifty NOC categories together with the secondary education.
  1. Federal Skilled Trades – Requires at least 2 years of work experience in a skilled trade from an applicant in the past five years.
  1. Canadian Experience Class – An applicant must have at least one year of work experience in Canada as a skilled worker.

Beside considering Express Entry Programs, qualified candidates from the EE pool are also being selected by provincial governments to meet the shortages of their local labor market. The process comes in to effect through the Provincial Nominee Programs (PNP).

How Does Express Entry Work?

  1. An Express Entry profile can be created by entering info regarding your background skills, education, work experience, and last but not the least your language abilities. If your profile meets any of the aforementioned programs, your profile will then be accepted into the EE pool of aspirants.
  2. Next, Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) which works under Express Entry ranks want-to-go-Canada aspirants in the pool on the basis of their skills, provincial nomination, job offer, language abilities, and personal profile. Candidates that rank high in the pool are then requested to apply ITA for PR. The point’s cut-off is then decided by Comprehensive Ranking System draw directed by IRCC nearly every fortnight. Candidates those are applying for visa with EE are allowed to stay in the pool for a year. If they are not issued with an ITA within one year of time, candidates will have to create their profile again in order to enter the pool.
  3. Once a candidate is issued with an ITA, he/she would have 90 days for submitting his/her application for Canadian PR which also includes upload of complete supporting documents.
