  • Providing surety that you will stay in Canada till your study permit expires, or if eligible you will be applying for a post graduate work permit.
  • Providing surety that you own sufficient funds for paying your first year course tuition fee as well as for living in Canada throughout your tenure. This must also include expenses for your return transportation to your home country.
  • The amount required to study in Canada may vary as per the number of family members. So, a candidate applying for study permit must have in his bank account the tuition fee for the course selected along with $10,000 for a year of time. If a candidate is accompanying one of his/her family member then the amount should be $14,000. To accompany more members, simply add $3,000 for a person.

Eligible candidates are suggested to gather their all supporting documents and apply for study permit as soon as they receive their acceptance letter to study in Canada. As, study permit processing time may vary as per your home country from where you are applying to study in Canada. Candidates can fill application by paper or online as per their wish and conveniences. After submission, it all depends on your country that whether you will receive eTA (Electronic Travel Authorization, TRV (Temporary Resident Visa) or a letter of introduction authorising your approval. Any of the documents received can be presented to the port of entry in Canada for receiving your legal study permit from the immigration officer.
